FEW's National President, Patricia M. Wolfe,
requests support
Federally Employed Women (FEW) will hold its 34th Annual National Training
Program (NTP) "Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today" in Chicago, Illinois,
July 7-11, 2003. The NTP continues to provide outstanding high-quality
and timely training to the thousands of women and men who attend, and
FEW is especially proud of this year's curriculum. We are modeling the
workshops around OPM's Leadership Competencies and are confident this
training program will meet or exceed the training goals set by your employees
in their individual performance and development plans. for the 34th NTP from the Secretaries of all Departments, and Heads of Independent Agencies and Commissions We recognize that many individuals are looking for skills to help them bridge the gap between today's job and tomorrow's career. FEW's training program helps to close those gaps and does so in a manner that is cost effective to employers. With the continued reductions in force, downsizing, outsourcing, and reinvention of the Federal government, we believe FEW's NTP is one of the few opportunities many Federal employees will have to meet personal and agency training requirements. In the past, your office has sent a memorandum in support of the NTP to all Agencies under its purview and this year we are again requesting your support in this effort. As a leader in advocacy for women and minorities, you know that in spite of the value of our training, many employees need a memorandum to justify/support approval for training requests. A memorandum from your office indicates training is a valuable asset in the professional development of Federal employees and reinforces official support for employee training opportunities. I cannot over-emphasize the contribution FEW has made to my own career and to my ability to provide the best possible service to my Department. We look forward to working with you in advancing the role of women and minorities in federal government. To support that goal, I would like to meet briefly with you to let you know more about Federally Employed Women and the 34th National Training Program. I will contact the appropriate member of your staff to determine if your busy schedule will permit such a meeting. In the meantime, if additional information about the training program is required or you have questions about our organization, your staff may contact Patt Franc, 2003 National Training Program Chair. Thank you for your consideration of our request.
