- Letter from Marion Stevens, FEW
National Vice President for Membership and Chapter Organization
Federally Employed Women (FEW) is a membership organization which:
- Strives to eliminate sex discrimination in the federal government;
- Enhances opportunities for career advancement of women;
- Establishes and maintains with federal agencies, working relationships
that advocate the fair application of EEO and personnel laws, policies,
procedures, and practices;
- Improves the quality of life for women by influencing Congressional
and Administration actions; and
- Works continually to achieve a unified and diverse membership that
values and capitalizes on similarities and differences at all levels
of the organization
The FEW mission and purpose statement was revised to recognize that the
mission of an organization is its driving force, and that FEW's mission
needed to be consistent with the needs of federal women today on into
the 21st century.
Members are the heartbeat of the organization. The 2003 NTP added a new
feature, FEW Friday. This was a day of
special activities for members only. Plans are underway to continue FEW
Friday at the 2004 NTP, so if you are not a member this is the perfect
time to join. Membership does have it benefits:
- Discounted NTP Member Registration Rates
- A subscription to News
& Views, FEW's quarterly electronic newsletter. This newsletter
is packed full of timely information related to Federal employment
- The latest Legislative
Information on women's issues
- Being part of a world-wide network of professional women and men
with common interest and goals
